My dad is alive and well, but rather than wait til he’s gone before I write a song about what he’s meant to me, I wanted to do it now while he can still hear it. When I was in high school he and I were on a bit of a road trip, and he made me listen to the Neil Young album Harvest Moon. I didn’t want to hear it, but it soon became one of my all- time favorites, and I have always remembered that day. I wrote and recorded this song to sound like that album. I even used a broom for the percussion, just like Neil did on the title track. I call this Fasha because my dad and I loved Austin Powers in Goldmember. When I was in college he would call me and say, “Dan, this is your fasha.”
